Adding an Add to Calendar widget to a creative

You can let your viewers add an event to their personal calendars, on their devices, from inside the ad experience.

Add to Calendar widget

Before you start

  • Create an In-Banner Video creative, an In-Stream Video creative, or a Rich Media creative. For steps, see Assembling a creative from a template or Assembling a creative from scratch.
  • If you want to display a custom calendar button, create the images to display. You can display the following images for a button, depending on how the viewer is interacting with the button:
    • An image that displays until the viewer interacts with the button (the Up state).
    • An image that displays when the viewer moves their cursor over the button (the Over state).
    • An image that displays when the viewer clicks the button (the Down state).
    • An image that represents the clickable area of the button (the Hit state). This image is not visible to the viewer.
All images should be the same size. For information about the types of images that you can upload, see Supported file formats.

  1. Navigate to the Division, Account, and Campaign of the creative.
  2. Click the Campaign Management tab, then click the Creatives tab.
  3. Click Edit for the creative. The Mixpo Studio opens.
  4. Add the widget to your creative:
    1. Select the canvas tab that you want to add the widget to.
    2. Click the Overlays tab, then click Widget.
    3. Click Our stock library.
    4. Select the Add to Calendar widget, then click Add media. The widget is added to your creative.

Make sure to upload an "Up" state image to display a preview in the creative canvas. Otherwise, the widget appears transparent.
  8. To change the size of the widget, click and drag the sizing handles on the corners of the widget.
Note: To make sure that the live ad is optimized for mobile devices, the widget should be at least 44 × 44 pixels, so that it is big enough for viewers to tap. If you added the widget to the Timeline Canvas tab, leave at least 44 pixels between the widget and the bottom of the creative, so that viewers can tap the video player controls.
  9. In the Subject field, type the name of the event. The name is displayed as the subject of the viewer's calendar item.
  10. In the Location field, type the location of the event.
  11. To specify the time zone of your event, select from the following:
    • By default, an event is scheduled at a fixed time, regardless of the time zone of the viewer. For example, a 10 AM event in New York is scheduled for 7 AM in Seattle. Select the Use fixed time check box, then choose the time zone of the event from the Time zone drop-down list.
    • If you want to schedule your event based on the time zone that each viewer is in, clear the Use fixed time check box. For example, an event scheduled for 10 AM in New York is also scheduled for 10 AM in Seattle.
  12. Select the Start date, Start time, End date, and End time of your event.
  13. In the Message field, type information to include in the body of the calendar item. You can include a link by typing the full URL, such as
  14. If your event is a recurring event, select the This is a recurring event check box. Choose the Recur until date and Recurrence type. If your event recurs weekly, select the days of the week that the event takes place on.
