When you build an extended rich media or expanding video experience, the overlays, videos, and audio content that you include are displayed on a visual timeline at the bottom of the Timeline Canvas tab in Mixpo Studio.

Depending on the type of content, the content is displayed on a timeline with one of the following icons:

• Text, image, and widget overlays:
• Videos (for In-Banner Video creatives and In-Stream Video creatives):
• Audio tracks (for In-Banner Video creatives and In-Stream Video creatives):

You can adjust when overlays appear during the ad experience, and how long they are displayed for, by adjusting their position on the visual timeline.

If you have multiple overlays on your creative, you can make it easier to manage the timing and effects of the overlays by adding multiple timelines.

Tip: To control which visual timeline you add an overlay to, select an overlay on the timeline that you want the overlay to be added to, then add the overlay. If no overlay is selected, a new overlay is placed on the bottom timeline.

Before you start

• Create an expanding In-Banner Video creative, a non-expanding In-Banner Video creative with a custom StartFrame, an In-Stream Video creative, or an expanding Rich Media creative. For steps, see Assembling a creative from a template or Assembling a creative from scratch.

To adjust the start time and duration of overlays using the visual timeline

1. Navigate to the Division, Account, and Campaign of the creative.
2. Click the Campaign Management tab, then click the Creatives tab.
3. Click Edit for the creative. The Mixpo Studio opens.
4. Select the Timeline Canvas tab.
5. On the visual timeline, select the overlay.
6. To adjust the amount of time that you want the overlay to appear for, drag the arrow on the end of the overlay's timeline bar.
   Tip: You can also adjust the duration by typing the number of seconds in the Duration field on the Overlays tab.
7. To adjust when during the video you want the overlay to appear, move the position of the overlay's timeline bar.
   Tip: You can also adjust when the overlay appears by typing the number of seconds in the Start time field on the Overlays tab.
8. Click Save.

To add a new visual timeline

1. Navigate to the Division, Account, and Campaign of the creative.
2. Click the Campaign Management tab, then click the Creatives tab.
3. Click Edit for the creative. The Mixpo Studio opens.
4. Select the Timeline Canvas tab.
5. Click the Add overlay timeline icon . You can add up to four additional timelines.
6. Click Save.

To move overlays from one visual timeline to another

1. Navigate to the Division, Account, and Campaign of the creative.
2. Click the Campaign Management tab, then click the Creatives tab.
3. Click Edit for the creative. The Mixpo Studio opens.
4. Select the Timeline Canvas tab.
5. Select the overlay that you want to move. To select multiple overlays, press Control (Command on a Mac) and select the overlays on the visual timeline.
6. Drag the overlay to the timeline that you want it to display on.
7. Click Save.
